It all started in 2017 when I started developing interest in coding, software development was what came to my mind, Like building interesting games like Grand theft auto, which I played really well at my younger age.
I picked python as my first programming language, I heard python was easy to learn compared to others, and truly as a beginner learning python was fun dealing with it's syntaxes, I got to a stage where I felt I should be building what I have longed for, so I started searching on how to build games using python and I got to know that a python module was what I needed to learn.
I started learning pygame, I wasn't comfortable enough with it and so I left it, I barely wrote codes until web development came to my mind some few weeks after, so I thought since I knew python, I should make use of it for web development.
I discovered Django, it looked so unfamiliar to me that I thought I wasn't writing in python any longer, this made me conclude programming is hard, lucky enough for me I checked google on how to learn programming and I saw sololearn I followed it's web development courses and it was really helpful HTML and CSS3 but when I got to JavaScript, I said to myself this is what I've been running from why again, then I decided I was going to handle it no matter how hard it comes at me.
I started downloading a lot of tutorial videos and pdfs on JavaScript, they were really helpful but I always felt I haven't reached the point of calling myself a programmer, I continued this way, that I had a lot of tutorial videos, so much that I couldn't complete watching.
As the 2020 pandemic started, I came across freecodecamp through twitter, I started following their web development curriculum until I completed it, it was really helpful I thought this was what I needed, I worked on a lot of projects which really sharpened my programming skills, since there's always something to learn while on projects.
What i wished i knew earlier
Following a planned curriculum.
Clearly defining what I want to do.
Joining a community.
Working more on projects.
Wow you've come this far, Thank you for reading, please leave a reaction.
